Welcome to lazy &Lit. We’re the bookstore that cares about your mental health! Since stress often leads to disorders such as depression and anxiety, we help you de-stress by pairing books with self-care.
We named our bookstore lazy &Lit. because we could all use a lazy day without feeling guilty. Imagine that: fewer meetings, more wine. Less doom scrolling, more reading. Less work clothes, more loungewear. Although our services and products are for everyone, we aim to help the people who would benefit the most: women. Tests proved that 1 in 5 women experience common mental disorders, such as anxiety or depression, while only 1 in 8 men experience them. Although 1 in 4 women will seek treatment compared to only 1 in 10 men, the steady decline in women’s mental health is the problem that we aim to tackle daily through literature.
Why books? Great question! Tests also proved that reading a book for 6 minutes daily reduces stress by 68%. It’s more effective than taking a walk, drinking a cup of tea, or even playing video games. Turns out, it’s one of the healthiest ways to de-stress! We're the bookstore that helps you have more feel-good lazy days than feel-bad stressful ones.
