Spend Juneteenth weekend with us at The Book Swap BBQ! MUST HAVE A TICKET TO PARTICIPATE. 

Here’s what to expect:

• Rest Is Resistance by Tricia Hersey book discussion + a copy of Radical Reparations by Marcus Hunter

• Book swap

• A self-care workshop + activities 

• 10+ vendors 

• NYC authors 

• A swag bag*

• Food*

Swag bags and food are available during the first hour or while supplies last. Swag bags are only available for those who purchased a ticket that includes our book of the month. Food is available to everyone.*

Here's what to bring:

• A copy of Rest Is Resistance by Tricia Hersey

• 2 books written by Black authors 

• A blanket to relax in the grass

• Comfortable clothes and a journal to participate in the workshop and activities 

• Your favorite snacks 

• Positive energy and good vibes

5:30pm-6:00pm: Swap a Black book with other attendees 

Sunday, June 16th at Herbert Von King Park (Brooklyn)

2:15pm-2:45pm: 1st book swap with vendors 

2:45pm-4:45: Self-care workshop + activities

4:55pm-5:30pm: Rest Is Resistance by Tricia Hersey book discussion 

5:30pm-6:00pm: 2nd book swap with attendees

If you picked up a copy of Rest Is Resistance By Tricia Hersey during May's book fair or from the site, please bring it with you to participate in June’s book discussion!

*The book of the month is only included with the “entry + copy” ticket. We will discuss Radical Reparations by Marcus Hunter during July’s book event! Pick-up ends at 6pm on the day of the event. You can request that your copy is shipped to you up until a week after the event. You will only be responsible for shipping costs.
